went to the gym directly after work for another session of kettlebells. had plans on going to the gym at our apartment complex too but later decided against it because my body is physically tired. instead i’ve decided to wake up earlier tomorrow morning and do a good 30-60 minutes of cardio before showering and going to work then back to kettlebells that same evening.
i did relatively okay with eating today. i had an egg white on wheat bread, 2 small pieces of fish and 3 sliced carrots, throughout the day i ate cherry tomatoes (instead of giving into the temptation of that magnificent marble cake, topped with what looked like 12 inches of icing on top of the break room table calling my name), 3 nilla wafers with one teaspoon of banana pudding and there were left overs but i took them home to my boyfriend, and for dinner we ate rice, vegetables and double fiber muffins… the small portions are because of my occupation which makes it easy.
judging by the title of this post, its clear i did well when it came to busting my butt at the gym i did kettlebells (and i even did a few in front of people… go me!) and i also went on the bike machine on a high level for more than 30 minutes and literally left drippin in sweat. i didnt realize the bike could be such a work out.
heres where i messed up. i split half a medium, naturally made pizza with my boyfriend, oh my god! i know, i know REALLY bad… but to make up for it a little, i went to the gym again later on and worked off a few more calories on the elliptical so i dont feel as bad as i did before.
well today didnt go exactly as predicted, unfortunately. we did go to the gym and play some raquet ball for like 30 minutes then we attempted kettlebells but this just turned into an outrageous arguement simply because im still working on being comfortable about working out in front of people. ive really made progress, i believe, but apparently not enough for him… and honestly its not so much about people lookin at me its more or less the fact that i think people whos been doing it longer will judge my technique. petty i know but like i said im workin on it, ive only been at it for like a week and a half.
anyways i didnt let this deter me entirely, in fact it was more motivating than anything. i was so mad at this point i took my butt to the gym and took all my frustrations out there for approximately 2 hours straight, on the elliptical, the bike, sit ups, push ups etc. dont get me wrong im very disappointed i didnt get to do kettlebells today it really is working wonders for me but ah well back at it tomorrow.
off to the gym i go for yet another day. more kettlebells, cardio and dog walking, perhaps some swimming thrown in there too… go big or go home, right?
i had my boyfriend hide the dreaded scale last night because it was pretty much laughing in my face. im working my ass off over here and its saying i gained a lb, ugghhhh! so now im going to base my progress specifically on how i look and feel, to hell with the damn scale.
i shall report in later tonight.
good luck all.
ok so i kinda fell off the wagon a little bit. we gave ourselves thursday off and said we’d hit the gym every other day til our next day off. anyways we f*cked up and took yesterday off too because every week we meet together with friends and go out to eat… well this weekend a couple of our friends we’re going snowboarding and next weekend me and my boyfriend are going back to england for 2 weeks to see my family for the first time in 4 years so we upped our weekly out to eat to friday.
granted i did go to the gym wednesday and did well, then today we went and did more kettlebells (more than usual) and i was bustin out push ups like its cool so im seeing strength progress… my boyfriend even said he’s noticing changes, in my back especially, i have more definition.
also this afternoon we went to our gym at our apartment complex that just opened FINALLY!!! im so excited, its pretty hi-tech. on all the cardio machines theres an individual hdtv attached to it with full cable, nice to keep you distracted while you break a sweat i must say. its impressive. later we went swimming too.
so anyways my new routine will include doing some cardio in the morning, going to work and hittin the other gym with kettlebells on the way home and then some more cardio in the evening right by my aqpartment (literally a 2 minute walk, if that, how lovely is that?). my trip to england will not be as planned out though obviously, but im hoping i can still get some work outs in while still enjoying myself and not over indulging myself in the food that ive missed oh so badly since ive been gone. BUT when i get back its business as usual my primary focus being the Air Force.
yesterday, when i mentioned there’s a good chance of me feeling the effects of the kettlebells even more so today, i was not lying. i am sore… BUT atleast now i know for sure its working and will gradually get better with time providing i keep at it.
i went on the elliptical again today and covered more than 3. 5 miles after the kettlebells. after this though, i came up with the wise suggestion of going to the hot tub to help assist soothing the muscles a little. seems to be doing a decent job so far, lets hope it stays that way.
went to the gym after work and had my boyfriend introduce me to kettlebell training. ive heard nothing but great things about this work out and its results… although i cant give you my personal opinion just yet as it is only day 1. however, i can tell you im feeling some of the effects already and probably will even more so tomorrow. after that i did some elliptical for about 30 minutes, i had such a headache at this point mainly because of work so i called it a day.
well i did what i said i was going to do in yesterdays post. i did make it to the gym this morning despite having very little sleep. we spent the night at a friends house, watched a movie, played ’scene it’ all that fun stuff… in other words the boyfriend was too drunk to drive home, better safe than sorry, right? but we had discussed that we would wake up early enough to get to the gym prior to the weekend even beginning and we followed through with it. so, we woke up around 9ish, went home to see to the dog, got dressed appropriately and headed out.
we played raquet ball for about 50 minutes and then proceeded to the gym area where i was on this odd contraption which kinda worked sorta like an elliptical/stair stepper, i did this for 30 minutes and covered 3 miles and burned 300 calories… not bad, not bad.
going to meet some friends for dinner later this evening so cross fingers and hope i make good choices.
went on the elliptical again on thursday but skipped friday cos we had some other things to do after work. today i walked the dog about 3 miles and have intentions on going swimming later this evening.
tomorrow morning i hope to wake up pretty early and head to the gym for some raquet ball and whatever else i can muster up the energy for.
